In this pro­gramme, Ensemble Correspondances, who have pre­vi­ous­ly focused on French music, make their first for­ay into the music of Johann Sebastian Bach. In this unique con­cert, its musi­cians – led by Sebastien Daucé – per­form three mag­nif­i­cent can­tatas com­posed by Bach dur­ing his short stay in Müllhausen, just before he was appoint­ed to the Court of Weimar. It was inci­den­tal­ly there in Müllhausen that the young Bach wrote his first can­tatas, a genre that was to have an abid­ing influ­ence on his fur­ther career.
