During the last week­end of the MA Festival, emo­tions run high. Chloé De Guillebon – guest con­duc­tor of Il Gardellino – has select­ed sev­er­al tech­ni­cal­ly com­plex but also emo­tion­al­ly pro­found arias from the operas of Antonio Vivaldi, among them Otone in vil­la, Orlando furioso, L’Olimpiade and Farnace. From heartrend­ing sor­row and intense anger to peace and con­so­la­tion, Italian star sopra­no Roberta Mameli con­veys every emo­tion with such expres­sive­ness that the arias come vivid­ly back to life.
