If there is one sym­bol of musi­cal van­i­ty, it must be vir­tu­os­i­ty. B’Rock and mez­zo-sopra­no Mary-Ellen Nesi prove that vir­tu­os­i­ty, how­ev­er, need not be gra­tu­itous — as Vivaldi’s music shows. In addi­tion to some con­cer­tos and the sub­dued Sinfonia al san­to sepol­cro we hear two solo motets. Vivaldi is joined by Geminiani and Caldara.
