The ensemble Nevermind, featuring harpsichordist Jean Rondeau, evokes a sophisticated party from the French baroque. Jean-Philippe Rameau followed in Elisabeth Jacquet de la Guerre’s footsteps when he wrote harpsichord works with violin and viol accompaniment. And in François Couperin’s Les Nations, Corellian trio sonatas expose themselves as swinging suites in the French style.
