Music has always been a por­tal between the divine, the oth­er­world­ly, the beau­ti­ful and humankind. Elisabeth Klinck and vocal ensem­ble Contre le Temps open that por­tal, with music that focus­es on beau­ty and the ven­er­a­tion of the Virgin Mary. Klinck reworks sev­er­al songs from the Contre le Temps reper­toire and per­forms them in con­junc­tion with her own work. Together with her ensem­ble – her­self, Niels Vermeulen on dou­ble bass, Jasmijn Lootens on cel­lo, Adia Vanheerentals on sax­o­phone and Anke Verslype on drums – she zooms in and out on the music and explores what hap­pens to music when it is repeated.
