Rumoured to be a mec­ca of occult prac­tices, Prague became the cul­tur­al hotspot of late 16^th cen­tu­ry Europe. Cappella Mariana and InAlto recre­ate the daz­zling music scene under Rudolf ll, with works by court com­pos­er Philippus de Monte and con­tem­po­raries such as Carolus Luyton, whose Missa super Basim is trans­fused with mysticism.
