In Search of Lost Dances
From Rebel to Ravel

Linos Piano Trio brings before us two masterpieces by Maurice Ravel: the Piano Trio and Le Tombeau de Couperin. Ravel’s transparency and directness, played on late 19th-century instruments, remind us that these neo-Baroque dances are not so far removed from their ancestors. Linos places these works in a Proustian dialogue with dances from early 18th-century France, including earthy dances by Haydn and Rebel.
Music by Maurice Ravel (1875−1937), Jean-Féry Rebel (1666−1747) and Joseph Haydn (1732−1809)
