Marco Mencoboni and his ensem­ble Cantar Lontano pay a musi­cal trib­ute to the com­me­dia dell’arte. They leaf through ear­ly baroque madri­gals and cham­ber can­tatas by Monteverdi and his con­tem­po­raries. Together, these car­ni­va­lesque com­po­si­tions tell a new love sto­ry, full of touch­ing, iron­ic and bur­lesque elements.
