The Elizabethan cult of melan­choly has a sur­pris­ing coun­ter­part in Arabic Sufism. The ensem­ble Imago Mundi inter­laces bit­ter­sweet lute songs with refined Sufic chants and the sen­su­al sounds of the oud.
